Schwarz Urwald is found in the depths of a large jungle. The city is made up of huts found both on the ground and up in the trees, where they are connected with rope bridge walkways. The trees tower above and reach farther than the eye can see, blocking out all natural light, because of this all light is emanated from torches placed about Schwarz Urwald. On the outskirts of the city, on the jungle floor, the city is surrounded by a thick brier that is constantly moving as if alive. The inhabitants of Schwarz Urwald are all animalistic, such as Nagas, and Satyrs. The Chaos Gate in this Root town is found on the jungle floor and is the focal point of the buildings there. There gate is old and covered in vines. It does not spin and is only glowing dimly. It is not possible to access areas from here, the gate only has enough energy to bring people to Schwarz Urwald and send them from Schwarz Urwald to other Root Towns. Schwarz Urwald is said to have once been a popular place, but a curse on the jungle has cut them off from the other cities by any means but Chaos Gate, but it quickly stopped working once it ran out of power. The people of Schwarz Urwald have recently found a new source of energy for their Chaos Gate, but it is predicted to only last a few months before the gate becomes inactive again.

Kimimela warped into Schwarz Urwald with the simple goal of satisfying her curiosity in mind. It took her a few minutes to take in the vast forest with the smell of earth and the sound of wildlife all around her. She looked up, and the canopy reached up as far as skyscrapers in real life did.
She, finally, looked down and noticed the local population. Kim, not reading up on the matter before, was quite surprised to see such strang peoples. She saw, in front of her, a Satyr. He looked to be young but she couldn't really tell with such races. He had something in his left hand, and was eying curiously, as if he had just bought it. She timidly walked up to the Satyr and said Hello there. The satyr turned; Oh, hello there, I assume you're new, human. Kim nodded. Welcome to our land. I must warn you. I am one of the nicer of the folk that live here. A lot of bitterness is about towards the humans, they are said to have caused the Great Curse. There are other factions that blame the forest itself, but you can't get mad at your own home, now can you? He went back to playing with what seemed to be a toy, a string with a ball attached to one end and a hoop on the other. He was holding the string in to places, try to swing the ball through the hoop. Kim was taken aback, she knew not of such a curse. I really must do my homework before I take on something new, she thought. I see, good fellow. Do you know where I can find the shops? There are no signs I recognize... The Satyr nodded. The signs are all symbols we use in our own language, and so you wouldn't understand them. The main shops are all on the second level, and the first and third are reserved for housing. The fourth level, he pointed to where the highest tree-houses stopped, is always good to go to as well. You can see far from there and there are interesting stores like the one I bought this trinket from. He held out his toy.
Kim thanked him, and began her ascent to the second story. It was tough going, the stairs being steep and often replaced with ladders, and she caught her robes often on the branches and rough bark along the way. She eventually reached the second level, and stood there resting for a while. I may not be tired, but I can tell my character is. I'll go get a drink then come back. (Cathy put her character on rest mode and went to get a drink)

Camax warped into the new server and took a brief look around. Camax wasn't interested in the storyline or the graphics, but with completing the new challenge set ahead of him. Camax checked his friends list one last time to make sure Sheppard wasn't online, Sheppard's name wasn't lit up which meant he wasn't online so Camax trudged onward toward the large maze. Camax was sure of his ability to handle himself in the dungeon, and he hoped that Sheppard would come of his own volition and perhaps they could meet up and join together then.
As Camax entered the halls of the temple he drew his sword and trudged forward into the dank musty halls. "I'm going to get to the bottom of this dungeon, beat the boss or open the treasure or whatever it is and get the prize. There's nothing like a shiny prize at the end to make a guy want to explore a maze. As Camax turned his first corner (A sharp right) a hand erupted from the earth and grabbed his leg, tripping him up. Camax landed face first in the dirt and by the time he had raised to his feet he was being surrounded by 3 ghouls that had pulled themselves from the earth. What the...I've never seen monster models like these before...A shiny prize and new baddies to beat up? This must be my lucky day! Camax thought as he rushed the first ghoul head on. As he swung Falling Mountain the ghoul's midsection was torn in half by the mass of his sword, and Camax let out a hearty laugh at the weakness of these monsters. Camax's laughter was soon halted however when the creature's two pieces, now laying on the dirt, grew their missing halves, resulting in 2 ghouls where one once stood. "Wha...That's...What the hell! Camax began to swing his sword fiercely, making wide arcs. But each time he cut a ghoul down 2 new ones sprang up in it's place like daisies. This...Is not good. I hope some help shows up soon or I may, for once, be in over my head...

Kim browsed the shops, and found many interesting things on the second level. There were things with which to customize your weapons. You could buy new colors for your swords and the like. You could add specific edges. She liked the wave-pattern edge they offered, but had no sword to put it on. The only things she found for fans were some accessories fo it; purely superficial. She didn't want to change anything about her fans, the wings of her noctua were the way she wanted them.
There were new clothing options in the next shop, most of them very foresty. They had leafy additions to every accessory and a lot of tribal symbols if you wanted to change your wave patterns. She was very interested in a new pair of earrings – they were leaf-shaped and iridescent. Perfect for her. She Bought them, but reserved putting them on for later.
She remembered about the quest available in this new area, and decided to finished it before continuing shopping. She wanted to get the fancy item at the end before spending any more money – if she didn't need the treasure, she'd sell it and then feel free to buy more then. Her reserves were running low already.
She headed toward where the large maze started. She sighed. She hated mazes, so it's likely she wouldn't last long. She walked slowly, pausing to go get a piece of paper. Cathy planned on drawing her path so that she wouldn't get too lost. She had about four different markers, red for her main path. The others were used when she overlapped the red lines. She drew an arrow implying where the temple was located, and hoped that her plan would help her from getting lost and didn't just confuse her further.
She turned the corner to see a large group of monsters. They weren't pretty creatures, and hoped they wouldn't slime up her dress. She shuddered slightly before running forward, noticing now there was someone in the middle of the circle of ghouls. She recognized him as Camax, who had helped her once with a PK. He seemed distressed so she called out. Hey Camax! It's Kimimela! I'll help you out! She took a swipe at the ghoul in front of her. It seemed to cut a little easier than usual, the head rolling off the ghouls' shoulders... and the two parts becoming ghouls quickly after.
Uh oh.... She stopped attacking, realizing it was futile. She instead defended and tried hitting with her fists, fighting her way into the middle where she stood beside Camax. She didn't have any defense buffing attacks, and was at a loss on how to defeat them. What now? She called, blocking their attacks. They can't be cut... think I should try some magic? What do you think would happen then? She said, hesitant to do anything – it was possible Camax knew more than him.

Post by Storm Sheppard on Feb 8, 2009 22:50:36 GMT -2
Jeremy rushed up the stairs of his apartment, his dark hair flapping behind him, the gel he had put in it earlier having long since lost its luster. The man had finally managed to get free from a horrifying creature that, despite his prowess with battle, he could not best. The thing was known only as Cassandra and belonged to a cursed race called blind dates that Jeremy’s mother seemed to be the lone source of. The girl was, in and of herself, not a bad person. She was a fairly short blond woman of fair figure, and given the chance Jeremy was sure many a man would enjoy the favours of her company. Unfortunately, Jeremy had little times for the ums, ah, likes, and hair chewing that dominated the conversation. She had nothing of interest to report in terms of conversational fodder, and even lacked a baser knowledge of the World, knowing it only as That weird game Becky Oldmon plays. referencing an actress that Jeremy had never heard about. He had extradited himself from her clutches at the earliest convenience (basically ten minutes after he said ‘hi my name is’) and rushed home. The latest event in the World was not going to escape his attention, nor his participation, and he loathed the requirement to appease his mother and her attempts to find him a special lady friend. Take the ‘n’ out of lady friend and you get a more accurate portrayal. He thought as he finally burst through the door.
Storm Sheppard exploded from the vine enclosed chaos gate like a furious demon, his lightning eyes crackling as he soared over a pair of conversing NPCs. He landed on his feet, sliding to a halt, sending loose dirt and leaves into the air at his passing. After a moment, he tugged at his vest as if straightening his appearance, glanced around with half closed eyes. He inspected the area around him, stopping a particular snake woman that slithered up to him. He bowed respectfully, and was told the accounts of the even story. He already knew all of it of course, but after having spoken with real people for so long he savoured the computerized voice and the unreality of the tale. He rushed off to the maze on the fringes of the forest, blasting past the gates with a plume of dust following close at his feet.
He reached the entrance within a few minutes, listening close to the grunts and crashes that signified an unruly battle. He heard a massive tumbling crash that he recognized instantly, and bolted forward into the mouth of the maze. He jumped in to see two on the people he knew as friends, Kimimela and Camax, both doing their best to fend off the swarm of ghouls that kept popping out of the remains of their former selves. He crashed into the head of the nearest ghoul, Blitzkrieg already out and straddled across his legs. The creature let out a wail as it fell to the ground, only to get up a few moments later.
Seriously guys, don’t you read the forums? These are a knew monster type. He beamed a smile a the two, twirling Blitzkrieg such that only the tazers at the edge of his weapon impacted with the ghouls. They were sent careening through the air into the cave walls all around them. When he was done they had a six foot breadth around them as the monsters began rising to their feet. This place was practically made for harvest clerics. These buggers only take damage from restorative spells and items. I mean, play any rpg and you’ll find hat out. He said, thinking back to a game he had downloaded once. The graphics w were shoty and it took him all of a couple days to beat it, but he definitely remembered the ‘undead’ in Final Fantasy X were vulnerable to healing things. He pulled out a small blue vial. He tossed the thing out into the mumbling crowd of monsters, and with a glitter the potion took effect. A bright flash enveloped every member of the monster group, and they wailed in agony. Healing rain. One hundred hp to all party members. He grinned, giving a cock-eyed grin and looking over to Camax and Kimimela. But I’ve got like, ten left, so repth works too since these guys seem to have more than 100 hp. He said, then hugged Camax as if for protection from the still encroaching ghouls.

Kimimela smiled, Yay, I was half-right! She said triumphantly, quickly finishing off the creatures with a few repth spells. It felt good for her to be someone's saviour for once, it seemed always too familiar for others to be saving her from imminent death after she ran out of SP. It only took a few seconds to finish the job, and the place grew eerily silent again. A few birds called overhead, and a slight wind moaned through the corridors, making her shiver in real life Ah, well then... shall we get going? She said, taking the lead to right the next fork. She chose the right path, its gradient going in a very shallow slope downwards. She noted her choice on her paper, glad that she had taken more sheets with her downstairs – this maze seemed like it would span more than one 8 ½ by 11 inch paper.

Camax held off the ghouls with broader strikes at slower speads to push the enemy without breaking them apart while Kim went to work on "Healing" the monsters, after a few moments there was nothing left of the baddies but a few rather large piles of dust on the floor, gusts of wind picking them up and blowing them down the hall. Well, It looks like Sheppard made it after all, and who's this Kim person, apparently they know me but I can't remember for the life of from where. Ah well, she seems capable enough.
"Hey, you too, before we rush off somewhere we should form a party. Even though this area doesn't seem to have battle fences it'd be safer if we were officially grouped together." Camax sent out invites to both Kim and Sheppard and then followed after kim. She sure is eager to get going... "Common Sheppard, don't be a slowpoke! Camax jogged to try and catch up. Though he was slower than the rest of the group, so he ended up lagging behind and bringing up the rear.
It took a while for anything else to happen. They had taken one more right after the first, and then two lefts and a ladder down into a basement of sorts where the only light came from torches on the walls, and Sheppard's eyes. It was in the basement that the hallway (which normally accommodated only two people side by side, suddenly opened up into a larger room that could hold 15 people side by side. there was a door on each side of the room with metal bars over each one that seemed to come from out of the floor and in the center of the room was a large mound of bones, Camax looked up at the ceiling above the pile and saw a hole in the ceiling. This must have been the result of a booby trap. People unlucky enough just fall down here...and then what Camax strained his senses and picked a low shallow breathing, he looked to Sheppard and Kim. "Be careful guys...Something is down here with us. In the shadows of one of the corners of the room, a large minotaur stood leaned against the wall, watching the three intruders with a hungry glare. In his hand he held a large claymore made entirely of bone that was serrated on both sides. From it's loincloth hung a large brass ring with a multitude of keys on it. It's eye's locked on Kim and it let out a soft snort past the ring in its bovine nose.

Kimimela accepted the request and she and Camax found there ways into the room. She didn't look back to Storm Sheppard but figured he was following. Kim walked slowly into the threshold of the room and stopped short, also hearing the snort from the minotaur. Yeah... that thing... definitely something. Looks like he has the keys to those doors. He looks tough. She was hesitant to make the first hit. On this hulking creature she was most likely going to either buff and stay away completely, healing her members, or if she did attack, it would be to hit a few times to an opening and then run off again. Well.. I'm support, so no way am I risking a smack from that club right off. Would one of you like to do the honours, or do you think we should talk to him before beating his face in? She said sarcastically, confident in her friends abilities.

Storm Sheppard followed close behind Camax, bent at the waist and holding onto the scruff of the large man’s vest. He looked like he was terrified in an anime-esque way, his butt stuck far out behind him and taking short, silly steps. When they came to a halt he bumped his nose into Camax’s back before standing upright. He was rubbing his nose, the vr system giving him a tingly feeling in place of pain. He wandered into the room, not noticing the large minotaur since his hand was obscuring his vision as he tried to clear his nose from the tingle. He was five feet away from the oversized creature when the feeling finally went away and he blink a couple times and breathed out heavily, relieved that he was of clear sinuses again. Then he smelled the hefty must of a cow and looked up to find it’s source.
Huh. Was all he managed to say before the thing came down with it’s large jagged sword. Storm Sheppard ran forward, tossing himself between the things legs and out the other side where he drew his weapon and quickly slashed at the creature’s back. The minotaur howled in pain and Storm Sheppard repeated his attack before jumping onto the things back and started strangling it with the cloud like shaft of Blitzkrieg. Lightning danced across the blade as Storm Sheppard laughed gleefully, enjoying the slow moving creature and it’s inability to form a fast enough counter to Storm Sheppard’s movements.
