[/li][li]Character Name:: Gaen
[/li][li]Class: Harvest Cleric
[/li][li]Characters apparent Age: 20
[/li][li]Characters Gender: Male
[/li][li]Characters Hair Color: Light Brown
[/li][li]Characters Eye Color: Hazel
[/li][li]Character Height: 5’ 4”
[/li][li]Character Weight: 50 kg or 110 lbs
[/li][li]Character Clothing Style: He wears fairly conservative clothes, starting with a white shirt that collars around his neck with bright green emerald buttons. On his right arm, it's pinned up to stop the rest of the sleeve from flapping around. His left sleeve has a dark green bracer around the forearm holding the sleeve in place, the bracer coated in golden filigree patterns. He wears a dark green vest as well, the golden buttons going up along the left side of his chest. The vest is met with a simple white wrap that goes around his waist, held in place with an emerald flower pin with a small item bag at the base of his back. His pants are baggy and white that flow down to his boots which match his bracers in colour and pattern. His boots are odd in that they don't actually have any soles to them, his bare feet hitting the ground. The top of his feet are covered by the boot as they stop just before his toes, a little string holding them in place like a sandal.
[/li][li]Character Physical Traits: Gaen stands at an unimpressive five foot four with a mess of short cut light brown hair crowning his head. He's features are unremarkable, boyish looks with simple brown eyes and a light green wave tattoo on his face that looks like an unravelling fern just under his right eye with a U shaped tattoo on his forehead. His shoulders aren't broad, a mere foot and half wide with nothing really visible in terms of muscle definition. His only really defining characteristic that sets him apart from the crowd is that he's missing his right arm from the middle of the bicep down. His other hand is delicate looking and skinny, almost feminine as if made for precision work.
[/li][li]Characters Personality: Gaen is a fairly nice fellow, generally trying to be helpful and cheery for those around him. He is passive in general, more likely to turn the other cheek, or agree to disagree when faced with confrontation of most varieties. He doesn't like to fight physically either, placing him in sort of an awkward spot when running about in a video game where fighting is nine/tenths of the law. He'll run and squeal like a little girl when faced with dangerous monsters and he has the luxury of running and squealing. He can actually stay and fight though, getting rather serious and stern about it if put in a position where running would mean somebody else's harm.
He is pretty quiet, preferring to listen and be on the side-lines than the centre of attention, only really talking when he has something important to say or a question to ask. Most believe he's shy around people, which is only half true as he absolutely loves being around others; though he is shy around provocatively dressed ladies which is again a problem in a video game where the armour for ladies seems to increase based on how much skin is showing.
[/li][li]Fighting Style: Gaen is an odd Harvest Cleric when it comes to fighting as he doesn't favour the staff in attacks at all. He is trained in real life in hand to hand combat, and in the game he puts that to use far more often than his traditional attack options as a Harvest Cleric. He fights with a modified version of Capoera, cartwheeling and dancing about the field to keep his motions hard to track and his attacks difficult to predict. He favours kicks most highly, even if that means having to do a one-handed handstand in order to introduce his foot to the face of some unfortunately tall enemy. He is nimble and quick, enjoying the option of getting out of harms way rather than staying to take the beating, and would rather be close up to an enemy than far away. He has been known to literally jump around on his foes, making him a difficult target to hit while allowing him to strike with relative impunity. He often puts his weapon away to do any fighting, sometimes using it as a pole vault or as a means to hook onto something and swing around, but mostly he finds the staff cumbersome when in battle. When battling with a group he enjoys his role as a healer though, allowing those who would enjoy a good tussle to take the lion's share of the combat while he sits back and keeps them in good shape.
[/li][li]Strengths: Gaen is exceptionally quick on his feet, being able to dance around even some of the swiftest monster types out there. He is also powerful, putting most of his stat points into magical power when he first created his character making his magic very potent.
[/li][li]Weaknesses: He hits like a gentle breeze since his main weapon is largely ignored as he fights like a Tribal Grappler, and even then he couldn't swing that stick as a weapon to save his life. He also is the proud owner of a very meagre constitution, taking substantially less damage than his peers before needing to recover himself.

.Weapon Information|:. - Weapon Name: Holla
- Weapon Type: Staff
- Weapon Appearance: Holla is a crooked staff about a meter and a half in total length made of knurled wood. The wood looks alive and is healthily covered in light brown bark, twisting a knotting as one might expect when looking at a tree. The top of the crook has three little bonsai trees growing from it, lush leaves rustling about when Gaen moves the staff. In the centre of the crook is an apple sized, perfectly spherical emerald, floating and following as if cemented in place.
- Weapon Abilities:
Name: Viridi Dextra
Post count: 0
SP: 15
Description: Gaen holds Holla up to his right shoulder, the emerald shining brightly in the crook of the staff before the wood comes to life, unraveling from it’s shape as if it were yarn unraveling from a ball. The strands of wood and bark twist and wrap themselves around Gaen’s shoulder and ‘stump’, turning into lush, green vines and leaves which wind together to form a right arm of the same build as his left arm. Gaen can control this arm just as easily as he could if it were born to him, as well as it’s added features. His arm acts exactly as his staff would for the purpose of casting spells, save that the spells all have a bright green ring instead of the normal luminous blue ring, and blocking damage as if it were a weapon. With every full strike Gaen makes with his right hand he will absorb 5 sp from his enemy. This only counts when striking a target, not their weapon.
Name: Venenum Carcer
Level: 200
Cost: 25 SP
Description: Gaen can steal a status effect from something he touches, be it a monster or character. If the effect is below 100 posts in strength, then it is held in his weapon in limbo for the next three posts before dissipating. Gaen can choose to have this status effect active on himself if he wants instead of storing it. If the status is above 100 posts in strength, then it is automatically active on him after he steals it. All status effects (either active or held) dissipate from him in three posts after he steals them including the stealing post. Lastly, he can impart the status effect he has held or active to any target he touches. He can only steal and hold one status at a time, and can only impart status effects that he has stolen. Status effects that were put on him via another ability or item cannot be given to others in this method.
.Character Background Information|:. - Friends: He is relatively new to [The World] and has stuck rather closely to his sister. He tries to make friends when he can though, finding himself partying with others when his sister isn’t online.
- Enemies: None that he knows of
- History: Gaen joined [The World] as a means of keeping in contact with his older sister Amelia, and chose his class as a means of helping her out on her adventures. He found that the game was pretty interesting and filled with quirky people he could enjoy the company of. He is presently trying to keep his level in sync with his sister and only takes on challenges when others request he come along.

- Player Name: Geoffrey Glephnier
- Occupation: Medical Botanist
- Age: 25
- Gender: Male
- Hair Color: Light Brown
- Eye Color: Hazel
- Height: 5’ 3”
- Weight:
- Clothing Style: Geoffrey dresses rather conservatively, button up collared shirts and slacks with suspenders when he is ‘on the clock’ and simple plain t-shirts with jeans when he is relaxing at home. He generally gives a sensation of dressing like an ‘old guy’ to those who see him around town. He wears dress shoes and loafers unless he is out hiking where he has a single pair of brown hiking boots.
- Physical Traits: Geoffrey has never been blamed for an overly aggressive imagination when it comes to fantasy, and as such his player character and himself are almost identical. Geoffrey is even missing his right arm from the middle of his bicep down, his stump, shoulder and the right side of his chest/ribs being covered in old scars. The only real difference is that Geoffrey has a much more toned figure, his musculature being well defined as seen in the very few instances he removes his shirt.
- Personality: Again, Geoffrey doesn’t use [The World] to escape his normal life, he uses it as a means to keep in contact with his sister, so he doesn’t pretend to be a different person. He really doesn’t understand the concept of role-playing, just opting to be himself and try to have fun while doing it.
.Biographical Information|:. - Parents: Holla Glephnier and Warren Bradley (unmarried, but happily together)
- Siblings: Amelia (older sister), Raymond (younger brother) and Connie (younger sister), Michael Bradly (older half brother)
- Relatives: Several, but that would take some getting into…
- History:
Geoffrey was the second oldest of the house hold, growing up under the watchful eye of his rather stern mother and impressively aggressive sister as his father was a military man and away from the house more often than not. He was never wanting for affection or things to do, his mother tending to coddle him while his sister’s constant shenanigans kept him busy with fixing her up afterward (this had sparked an early interest in medicine). He helped his mother with daily chores, assisted with raising his younger brother and sister as much as possible and greedily soaked up information in school. Truly, life was a blissful place for the young man until he turned seventeen.
He was a smart kid, and thus graduated early from high school, eager to enter medical school. His family wasn’t the wealthiest on the block, so he opted to join the military and get his education there. This was a bit of a crumple to his happiness since that meant leaving his family in British Columbia for school in Ontario. They kept in touch as much as possible, but between his classes, studying and the mandatory combat training (he had opted to do Capoeira instead of the more traditional classes taught since it was a friendlier atmosphere) he didn’t have much time for visits or phone calls.
After a three year term in an accelerated program at the Royal Canadian Military College, he was hoping for a posting closer to his family, but was sent overseas instead (which was a bit of a kick in the butt). He did his job of course, served queen and country to the best of his ability as a surgeon for locals and soldiers at his base. Since doctors were few and far between, he had to fill five or six positions on base and took the time to chat with his patients as much as possible, trying to be a friendly fellow and have the imposing military base seem a little more welcoming. He tended to tell stories mostly, favouring myths and legends he learned as a child from his mother (who was half Greek half German and a whole lot of interesting). One afternoon he was talking to a young man who thought that the talkative doctor was trying to introduce himself and miss-heard Gaea (a favourite myth of Geoffrey’s) as Gaen. Fairly soon the entire ward was referring to him as Gaen since Doctor Glephnier seemed a touch on the difficult side to pronounce. The name stuck for the most part and Geoffrey didn’t mind so much, seeing the nom-du-guerre as a bit more sociable than being called doctor all the time.
He spent the first two years of his six year posting like this, tending to wounded and waiting for the letter that said his term was up and he could head back to Canada. His ‘letter’ arrived when he was traveling with a caravan transporting supplies to a nearby base and the convoy was attacked. Geoffrey didn’t know what was going on really, explosions and such were rather disorienting after all. His truck had come to a stop, the infantry-men with him getting ready to defend their position when a grenade popped through the window and landed at Geoffrey’s feet. He acted quickly, picking up the little metal ball and putting his arm out the window to throw the grenade away (he didn’t want to miss the window). He was successful in getting the grenade out of the truck, but his right arm wasn’t particularly fortunate as his arm was liquefied up to the elbow and mangled up to the middle of his bicep, shrapnel and debris ripping through the thin hide of the truck and burying themselves in his side and chest. It was likely due to the shock that he didn’t remember much afterward, but he was told that he administered first aid to his arm before checking over the two infantry-men and passing out.
He awoke next at his base, patched up and missing his arm from the middle of his bicep down. Suffice to say, his career as a doctor was more or less over without the duet of hands that most physicians performed surgery with. He was discharged from the military due to significant wounds and sent home within the month which was the only good thing he could see from the whole ordeal. He was happy to return home of course, but it was a bitter pill to swallow to have to veer off from his chosen career. He chose to take lab work as his fall back, having quite the knowledge of medical drugs and wanting to take up medical botany ever since his second year in school. He worked at the University of British Columbia as a researcher, developing and patenting a few minor pain killers as well as patenting a chemical that eased VR addiction which earned him tenure with the university. He could have, at this point in his career, retired at the ripe old age of 24 and lived off the royalties from his patented medicine, but he liked the work he did and didn’t have much else to do. That is, until his older sister came to live with him.
She was a brilliant mind in her own right, finishing off a thesis on VR interface technology, and being part of the team that developed the R2 VR helmet for CC-Corp. She had come to live with Geoffrey, moving all the way from California, because during an office party she had attended, she accidentally fell down a flight of stairs in a drunken race to the bottom floor. The accident left her in a state of locked-in syndrome, and she had been hospitalized until it was clear that she wasn’t going to come out of it. The only link to her was, ironically, through VR technology, and after a bit of conversation she asked to be moved home. Geoffrey, who had taken over the mortgage for his family house in Victoria, eagerly accepted the job of being his sister’s care giver. They now live together under the same roof, and communicate through VR technology, specifically in [The World] since his sister enjoyed the game and even started a new character so her kid brother could be at the same level.
.Role Playing Information|:. - Sample RP
Gaen was sitting in Mac Anu, waiting for his sister at the fountain as he usually did after he came home from work. She had been in [The World] all day already, doing whatever it was she did while Gaen was away since she promised not to gain levels when he wasn’t there.
“Probably trading and enjoying the scenery.” He said to himself, having taken some time on his own to view the majestic happenings of [The World] even if it was all technically programmed in and not actual scenery. He heard a ding as a message appeared on his HUD.
Spit Fire: Hey G, I’m tied up with some guys at Envious, Powerful, Crescent. I’ll be over in a minute or two when I’m finished with‘m.
Gaen: Oh don’t hurry on my account, it’s you’re last day in [The World] for a little while, enjoy yourself! ^.^ I’m going to fix myself a snack while I wait, so if you get to me before I get back, I’m not ignoring you.
Gaen messaged back, sitting up properly before moving his hand around his head for a second.
Geoffrey put his headset down on his desk and walked over to the kitchen to grab a glass of water and a granola bar. He wandered over to his sister’s room where she was laying in her bed with her headset still humming away. He felt a little bad that he was going to have to bring her VR helmet into the shop for calibration tomorrow. He hoped the thing wasn’t going to take too long to fix up for her since she really didn’t have anything else to do during the day. He had set up a TV for her to watch while he was out, and he had a few books he could read to her, but at the end of the day it really wasn’t the same as being able to move around, even if only digitally. Geoffrey got back to his seat, finishing off his granola bar and water before putting his headset back on.
Gaen looked around to see water everywhere! When he looked up he found the stony floor of the Mac Anu fountain and looking down he could see the clear blue sky distorted by the water’s surface. He could also see his sister’s character holding him up by his ankles. He floundered and kicked to try and get himself free only to be dropped unceremoniously into the water.
“Bluh, guh, hey! What was that for?” Gaen said, pulling himself, soaked, out of the fountain. His sister just shrugged with a wry grin.
“That’s for keeping me waiting. What were you doing, fixing yourself a four course meal?” She joked, punching him in the shoulder. “Now let’s get going, I got a lot of stuff to get done before this thing goes in the shop!” She said, hauling Gaen to his feet and pulling him toward the warp gate.
