[/li][li]Character Name:: XIII
[/li][li]Class: Shadow Warlock
[/li][li]Characters apparent Age: 25
[/li][li]Characters Gender: Female
[/li][li]Characters Hair Color: Dark Purple
[/li][li]Characters Eye Color: Lavender
[/li][li]Character Height: 5'7
[/li][li]character Weight: 135
[/li][li]character Clothing Style: From top to bottom: rectangular sunglasses sit low on the bridge of her nose, allowing her to look over the top of them. The right lens is white, the left is black.
She wears a black waist length suit jacket, buttoned up at the top just under her collarbone, opens underneath in an upsidedown "V". (more like a cloak with sleeves then a coat) which covers her modestly sized breasts. Although it is unlikely that anyone else would regularly see this, she has little nipple cups underneath her coat, for decency's sake. On her hands are purple gloves, a slightly darker shade than her hair.
For pants she wears white crotchless chap shorts that cut off at the upper thigh, made in the same style as her jacket. Underneath those she wears purple panties.
For shoes she has leather high heel boots that come up just past the knee. Left boot is white, the right is black, both with purple details, which swirl around the kneecap and heel. Belt buckles at the top of the boots, mid calf, and at the ankle.
[/li][li]Character Physical Traits: Slim with a mocha tan. Her hair is completely shaved off on the left side, the exposed skin on the side of her head tattooed with spell inscriptions. A "XIII" is tattooed on her left cheek.
[/li][li]Characters Personality: At first she is cold and standoffish, however, further conversation with her reveals that she is not mean spirited, she's just extremely blunt. She, generally, dislikes having to deal with other players, and assumes that she doesn't like all other player characters until they have proven themselves. As such, she hates partying with other players unless absolutely necessary for in game events.
[/li][li]Fighting Style: Her style could best be described by "Boom! Headshot!" She prefers to keep her distance and deal as much magic damage as possible in as short a time as possible. She'll open up with her most damaging spells before her target gets too close, and continues to pummel them with spells until they get close or drop, whichever happens first.
She prefers to focus on one target at a time rather than dealing damage evenly, and will not usually switch targets unless she has to.
Close-range she can't hold her own for very long. She reduces the number of spells she casts in close range, favoring dodging rather than damage. She'll use illusions and trickery to get out of the way, using mirror images, sneaking, or even just plain hiding if possible. She is certainly not above retreating when necessary, and always keeps smoke screens on hand.
[/li][li]Strengths: Her greatest strength is her wells above average magic casting ability. Her spells hit like magical trucks. Her casting time is slightly above average, but nothing amazing. She also has a good magic resistance and reflexes, which allow her to dodge fairly well when not casting spells.
[/li][li]Weaknesses: Because of her near complete focus on being able to deal damage, she has many weaknesses. Her max HP is low, her physical defense and stamina are both very low, and her physical attack is absolutely laughable.
.Art/Spell Information|:.
[/li][li]Arts: N/A
[/li][li]Spells: Shadow Mirror - Creates an exact copy of the caster. The copy perfectly mimics the caster in every way. It does the same action, casts the same spells, even says the same things. The copy image is always the same distance from the caster's targeted enemy as the caster. If the caster moves closer to, or farther away from their target, the copy will move as well. If the caster starts targeting another enemy, the image will run over so that they are the same distance from the enemy as the caster. This image cannot deal any damage itself, it merely does the actions as though were going to. The copy has no hp and does not react when hit with a spell or weapon, the weapon or spell effect simply going through them. This makes it obvious that it is the copy when hit.
This spell's duration is only 30 seconds, and cannot be cast again for 1 minute after the first Shadow Mirror's duration has ended.
Only one Shadow Mirror can be in effect at one time. (single target, low power, 0 posts, custom spell)
Shatter Mine - Creates a cylindrical area that starts at the ground and goes upwards. If a character even brushes against this area, they take non-elemental damage. After the first five seconds right after it is cast the mine fades to all but the caster, making it invisible to all but the caster until it explodes, at which time it appears as a large beach ball sized glass orb shattering.
To the caster it appears as a large white glass orb which floats about four feet above the ground. On the caster's minimap it appears as a small, white, cartoon-like bomb.
The mine only deals damage to the first person to enter the area, afterward it simply disappears.
The maximum number of mines that can be laid in an area is 3. They cannot be laid within 100 ft of a chaos gate.
To lay a mine, the caster must commit 1/6th of their max SP, which cannot be healed until the mine is gone.
The mines go away when they are triggered, dismissed, or when the caster leaves the area. The mines can be dismissed at any time.
If the caster leaves the area, the SP cap will return to normal, and the committed SP will be healed as well.
If the mine is dismissed, then the caster's SP cap will return to normal, and 1/2 of the committed SP will be healed as well. (They will regain 1/12 of their max SP) If the mine was triggered, then the casters SP cap will return to normal, however, the SP would have been spent. (single target/AoE, medium power, 200 posts, custom spell)
Rue Kruz - upward surge of water (single target, low power, 0 posts)
Repth - heals minor injuries of target (single target, low power, 0 posts)
Zan Rom - small tornado rises around the target (AoE, low power, 0 posts)
Gan Bolg - rocks fall on target (single target, low power, 100 posts)
La Repth - heals minor injuries of all party members (party, low power, 100 posts)
Ani Zot - dark claws rise from a pool of darkness and slash target , additional effect poison (single target, medium power, 200 posts)
Ol Repth - heals significant injuries of target (single target, low power, 200 posts)
.Weapon Information|:.
[/li][li]Weapon Name:Ace of Spades
[/li][li]Weapon Type: Staff/Grimoire
[/li][li]Weapon Appearance: It looks more like a sleek, black, cane than a staff or book. At the top is a small white glass sphere that acts as a handle. It's rather unremarkable to look at outside of combat.
In combat XIII holds the cane more like a scepter. The sphere lights up and projects the incantations for different spells into the air around her. This is her grimoire. These images are transparent, and each has faintly glows a different colour depending on the spell. No matter which angle she holds the cane at, the images stay right side up in the are around her.
These images are purely aesthetic. They do not affect the spells that she casts at all, and they do not affect the physical space around her at all. Someone could walk through them and not feel a thing.
[/li][li]Weapon Abilities: N/A
.Character Background Information|:.
[/li][li]Friends: Aside from a few adoring newbie Shadow Warlocks, and a few regular customers, she has no real friends. Even then, she wouldn't consider any of them to be real friends, just friendly acquaintances. The only one that she would consider a real friend is the grunty of the Karaoke guild, to whom she has often poured her heart out to after a few drinks, both virtual and otherwise...
[/li][li]Enemies: Anyone she's been sent to kill, or anyone that she's caught picking on a newbie Shadow Warlock.
[/li][li]History: XIII is, at first, rather standoffish. Extremely impatient and extremely blunt, she generally, doesn't get along with other players. She assumes that she dislikes everyone until they do something to prove otherwise.
During her first week of play, not a day went by where she wasn't PK'ed, ripped off, or frustrated beyond belief trying to form and properly run a party.
As a result, she absolutely hates partying with other players, and will not do it unless absolutely necessary for an event. That being said, when she's in a party with other players that are competent, she's a great leader. Her strategic thinking making them a party to be reckoned with. When she's in a party. Which is almost never.
She's a mercenary of sorts. She runs something like an assassination business. She doesn't advertise this fact in game, but has still gained some popularity in rumor forums.
She is first contacted by potential clients, and given their request to either kill another character or steal an item of theirs.
Before she goes after anyone, however, she first stalks both the target and the client (the client is unaware of this) for a time, finding out their habits, fighting styles, etc.
During this time she decides whether or not her action is just. She will not go after someone that she sees as innocent, nor will she accept a request to PK someone for "stupid" reasons, like simply telling the client off, or beating them in the arena.
She never carries her business into the arena. In fact, she almost never goes into the arena.
Given her "occupation" in the world, she is, surprisingly, calm and patient in battle. She is a good loser in duels, seeing every loss as just one more thing to learn from. She has no real problem with dying, since she'll simply revive in a couple minutes anyway. It's really only with other players that she has no patience.
Occasionally newbie Shadow Warlocks will find themselves the recipient of her good will, either by receiving gold or items, or her protection from other PKers.

[/li][li]Picture Reference: <optional>
[/li][li]Player Name: Destiny Maria Miller-Weiss
[/li][li]Occupation: Student, part time worker at a video game store
[/li][li]Age: 19
[/li][li]Gender: Female
[/li][li]Hair Color: Black
[/li][li]Eye Color: Dark brown
[/li][li]Height: 5'2"
[/li][li]Weight:110 lbs
[/li][li]Clothing Style: Very casual. Usually wears jeans and a small T-shirt, and the shirt usually has something funny written on the front. Either that or a picture of a video game, cartoon, or comic book character.
[/li][li]Physical Traits: She is fair skinned, but nowhere near deathly pale. She has a burn mark on her left hand from playing with fire once as a child (something she's never done since).
[/li][li]Personality: Destiny is pretty easy going with other people. She's laid back, and is almost never in a rush. The only time she really looses her patience is when she's forced to wait on someone else to do something that they said they would, and even then it's only after a long time has passed.
.Biographical Information|:.
[/li][li]Parents: Father - David Weiss, Mother - Chantal Miller, Stepfather - John Stiles.
[/li][li]Siblings: Sister - Hope Miller-Wiess (yes, their parents were new age hippies or something)
[/li][li]Relatives: No extended family live in the same area.
[/li][li]History:Until recently her and her sister lived with their father, who separated from their mother when Destiny was too young to really remember much. They've kept in contact with their mother, who has since remarried, but there was never a very strong connection.
She now lives with her sister, who is the manager of the store she works at. At times it's stressful, because she can't really get away from work while at home, and can't get away from home while at work.
She is currently studying sociology.
She loves to hang out with friends, and play games, catch movies, or hit the town, but her time is rather limited.
Even though she likes to be with friends, she's still fairly private, and needs her time alone to escape. This is usually when she plays The World.
Aside from The World, one of her favorite games to play is good old fashioned chess.
.Role Playing Information|:.
[/li][li]Sample RP
It was raining. XIII stood waiting in the rain, admiring the way the rain collected and fell down her clothing. This game really was something. The water didn't just run down everything in this game. It actually soaked into her clothing, but ran down her boots and skin. When she opened her mouth she could almost imagine the taste of it.
It wasn't as if it were cold. There were rumors of an update that would allow players to feel what their character felt, or smell or taste or whatever.
Wouldn't that be fine and dandy? Great until someone ended up thinking that they were being sliced in half by a giant sword. Or until they get so caught up playing The World, that they don't notice when something is happening to them offline and they don't notice that their house is burning down all around them.
Besides where's the fun in watching the rain if feeling the cold means you can't enjoy it?
There was a muted rustle in the grass behind her. Turning around XIII saw another Shadow Warlock. He was pretty short. Young looking too. Looking at his equipment XIII could tell that he hadn't been playing for that long, but wasn't a complete newbie either. His looks and his inexperience working together to make him look like a child. The book on his staff was now closed, and he was now holding it to his chest to protect it from the rain, as a result, the bottom part of the staff was sticking out awkwardly in front of him.
He'd been playing long enough to know what he wanted to do, but was not high enough level to actually do it.
Usually, this was where XIII came in.
XIII quickly began the trade, and sent the money. As expected, he accepted before he even knew what was going on. The greedy ones and the ones that didn't know any better always did. Accept the gold first, ask questions about it later.
"Wait, what's going on? I'm supposed to be paying you, aren't I?" He nervously shifted his grimoire against his chest to make sure it stayed dry.
"It's a refund. I don't make a habit of doing suicide missions, I don't settle arena grudges, and I don't work for PKers who don't know how to loose gracefully."
"You...What? What did you say to me? Why I...I'll get you for that! I will! I might not be able to yet, but--"
"Good."
"..Wha...what?"
"But you'll be able to get me for it later, right? Good. Great. Get stronger."
"Wait? WTF? What's your problem, man?"
"Go get stronger. Go learn how to actually play this game, and them maybe you won't need to try and hire someone like me to fight your battles for you."
"That's it! I don't have to take this from you! I'm going to tell the rest of my friends what you did. You can beat me, but you can't take on all of us at--"
"Were you even listening to me, you idiot? I said, 'go get better'. Dragging a bunch of other idiots along with you isn't getting any stronger. It isn't going to get you what you want, and it certainly isn't going to get you any farther ahead in your stupid arena, that's for sure."
"Why you--!"
"I'll tell you what, idiot. You beat me alone outside of the arena, I'll give you a little gift. I have an extra grimoire or two that I could give you..."
"I...don't get it. You want me to beat you?"
"No. Not really. I want there to be less morons and more good players in this game. I want for you idiot PKers to know how to properly choose your battles, and I want for other Shadow Warlocks to actually know how to play their class well. If I can get that for the price of some gear and dying a few times, I'll gladly pay it."
"So...you want me to get better...just so that I can get better?"
"Yeah. The grimoire is just incentive, kid."
"Don't call me kid, you bi--"
"Beat me, and I might consider calling you something else."
This time he was silent. It was impossible to tell if he lowered his head to shield his face from the rain, or to hide his eyes. "Let me offer you some advice. You're a Warlock.Everyone else thinks that you're weak. They think that swinging a sword is what strength is. They're wrong. They're all wrong. We have the potential to rule this game, but we're all too busy hiding behind other players to know it. Don't ever rely on anyone else. Other party members won't always know what they're doing. You're friends won't always be online. Your guild won't always care."
The other Warlock simply stared at XIII open-mouthed. His grimoire forgotten momentarily. The water collected on top of the closed book and along the cover, running down and soaking into the sleeve of robes. Even though the water ran onto the pages, the pages themselves remained undamaged.
"Ok...I...I'll do it. Just..."
"Just what?"
"I get that I need to be better and stuff, but...what's the point if you can't share it with anyone."
"Kid. I have a habit of changing other people's luck really quick. I think you've pushed yours far enough for today."
And with that XIII logged off, leaving the other Shadow Warlock alone in the rain.
